Holiday snacks

For holiday fun we officially recommend recycled wrapping paper and organically-grown, gluten-free, locally-sourced treats. But we can't help acknowledging that there's something about wearing fuzzy mittens while staring at a festive light display that awakens simpler tastes. On this blog and Tricycle's Facebook page we'll be taking off our grown-up, corporate shoes and remembering the feel of shag carpet between our toes. Thanks to generous elves we'll also likely be writing all further posts this month while on a sugar high.

Royce Epstein is a juror every year for the Best of NeoCon competition in Chicago but that's not why we thought it was a good idea to get to know her. As an educator, designer, author and astute industry observer Royce draws on an extensive background in product selection to share insights on her blog about materials, finishes and interior design. We think she's pretty cool and she took a few minutes from her work as Resource Specialist at Kling Stubbins in Philadelphia to answer a few questions for this holiday treat.

Like Tryk?
R: Of course! Tryk is an idea whose time has come and they will conquer the world one simulation at a time.

Why Design?
R: Design is about making the world better, and it connects all people from around the globe. It takes all of us to design the future.

Guilty holiday pleasure?
R: Chocolate, but really that's year round. I will not, however, eat chocolate-covered fruitcake!

What inspires you?
R: Rock and Roll, Art, Street Style, and Pop Culture.

Our blog is mostly about sustainable design in the interiors industry,
especially carpet. Sometimes it's just about us. Updated when we've got something good to say.
