La Papietta

This Saturday night we celebrated design at the TEN Show, a joint party hosted by AIGA Chattanooga and Artini, showcasing the best design in Tennessee. A highlight of the evening for me wasn't even in the exhibition. Carrie Walker's paper chandelier hovered like a ghost in the center of the church cum gallery. The paper and steel fixture she calls "La Papietta", a made-up word, is an exploration of chaotic growth whose large scale is balanced by its lightness of materials.
